Washington, D.C. - House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Subcommittee on Health Chair Brett Guthrie (R-KY) today announced a subcommittee field hearing titled "Addressing the Opioid Crisis: Examining the SUPPORT Act Five Years Later."

"With the fentanyl crisis raging on across our communities, it’s critical that we find ways to more effectively provide support for people struggling with substance use disorder. By strengthening programs that help people manage addiction and by lifting them out of despair with opportunities to live a full life, we can save lives and help people reach their full potential. Our members will hear from experts in the community and convene this hearing in Central Pennsylvania where the opioid epidemic has claimed tens of thousands of lives over the past decade-just as it has in Washington State, Kentucky, and other parts of the country," said Chairs Rodgers and Guthrie.
