On Earth Day, we are celebrating how America has led the world in reducing emissions-and we’ve done it while raising the standard of living, fighting poverty, and maintaining the highest environmental and labor standards in the world.
How has this been possible? By taking advantage of America’s abundant and diverse energy resources and leading the world in innovation and technological breakthroughs.
Don’t miss this special Earth Day update on how H.R. 1, which passed with a bipartisan vote, will ensure America continues to lead the world to address climate change risks and improve people’s quality of life.
#1. It would cut our reliance on dirty supply chains and countries like China, that have no regard for environmental protection and human rights.
#2. It would expand production of clean American natural gas, which has enabled America to reduce emissions more than any other nation.
#3. It reverses damage done by President Joe Biden’s rush-to-green policy agenda that has made energy more expensive and less reliable for the American people.
H.R. 1 is just the beginning of our work to expand America’s energy dominance. Energy and Commerce Republicans are working on solutions for abundant, reliable, and cleaner energy with an all-of-the-above approach-including emissions-free hydropower and nuclear energy.
In addition, be sure to check out our hearing next week, titled: “Exposing the Environmental, Human Rights, and National Security Risks of the Biden Administration’s Rush to Green Policies."
As Chairs Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Bill Johnson (R-OH) said, “President Biden’s rush-to-green agenda is forcing an energy transition on people. As a result, the U.S. is becoming more reliant on resources like critical materials-essential for wind, solar, and electric vehicles-which often rely upon child labor, forced labor, and dirty supply chains from countries like China. Increasing our dependence upon countries with significantly lower environmental and human rights standards than the U.S. will not help us reduce emissions."
